29. Laundry. There are lots of ways to save money
when doing laundry. One is wear clothes more then once. Jeans are easy to do
this with and using a towel more then once is a no brainer. (Please change your
under wear every day though.) Also if you visit family often ask if you can do
laundry there and pay them like 10 bucks or what ever a fair amount is and I bet
you will still save money. When we have
to go to the laundry mat it costs us at least 20 dollars for just two people. Be
creative. 30. Roll your own brew your own. If you smoke roll your own smokes. I really recommend quitting but I have heard how hard it can be. So roll your own the cost will be a lot less. If you enjoy a occasional beer, brew your own. You can get the kits and brew about 2 and half cases for the cost of one from the store. After the initial investment and some time you will make up the difference very quickly. 31. Get off the bottle. Bottle
water, I don’t know why people make this a must have item. You can get the same
quality out of your tap. If you freaking out that much over the tap water find
out about filter systems and pricing. I am sure a good portion of the filters
cost less then you would spend on bottle water annually. Not only save some dough but you will be
savings the environment as well by using your bottles again. |
32. Light bulbs. You have seen the energy savers. I have seen the coupons and they last for a long time. Why not switch over? Some compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL) will save about $30 over its lifetime and pay for itself in about 6 months. It uses 75 percent less energy and lasts about 10 times longer than an incandescent bulb. 33. Recycle. If you recycle you can reduce the
amount of waste you have going out and in some areas you can buy a certain
color bag that is pre paid to be picked up. These bags run a bit more but if
you don’t have to use them as much they can save you money. Also in some states recycling your aluminum,
glass, and plastics pays. Easy money, just drop the recycles off on your way to
the store. Not only do you save and out some money back in your pocket, you are
helping the environment. 34. Do not shop online. When you shop online you use
a card most of the time and make additional un- needed purchases. Also your
information can be stored on the sites. If you decide to get rid of the cards
and cut them up, what happens when you’re browsing and your information is
already there? Temptation sweet temptation, and then your hooked and running up
your credit card bill. |
35. Man need meat. In reality we probably eat more
meat then we really need to anyway. Why not cut back a little on portion size
or not eat meat in all your meals. There are plenty of protein alternatives.
Also a little less red meat would be a good for your health. So save your heart
and your wallet some strain. 36. Haggle. My favorite word. If there is a chance I can get a discount just by opening my big mouth, you can bet I will be speaking. I love garage sales, flea markets, and pawn shops. Those are some of the easiest and most common places to haggle. Give it a try any time you think it may work. It can’t hurt to ask at least. 37. Cut back the pet expenses. Your dog
does not need the over priced treats, they all pretty much taste the same to
her. None of the animals need a ton of toys. Besides if yours are any thing
like ours, they like the cheap of free stuff any way. A baseball found in the
park, a old stuffed animal, or a piece of string. There is a lot of room to cut
back here so real it in a bit. |

38. If you get catalogs pitch them. Bobby
Bouche’s mom would say temptation is the devil. Throw those things
away and save your self the temptation of buying or even looking. 39. Find other activities. As easy as it sounds, find something cheaper, or free to do. If that activity is your favorite go at a different time. If you love movies go for a earlier showing to get cheaper tickets. For a while our theater was running a snack special for dollar drinks and small popcorn but it was only on Tuesdays. My little brother and I like to bowl, in summer the bowling alley business slows and they start running deals. We wait till after 9pm and we pay 99 cents a game. There is all sorts of ways to do the things you enjoy, just find a way to do them cheaper. |
